As parallel optics applications continue to proliferate, we've been developing interconnect solutions to support testing of this high-speed parallel link. Loop-backs (also called wrap plugs) are useful tools for the test technician, to assist in troubleshooting or to provide live system operation during burn-in and system testing.

Our loopbacks feature molded hard-shell plastic shrouds fully encasing the data-carrying fibers, secured to the rear of the MTP®/MPO connectors. The shrouds do not interfere with the mate / de-mate mechanism of the connector system and provides adequate room for technician fingers. Available in both multimode and single-mode versions, the multimode version, intended for use with VCSEL light sources, provides 0.75 dB to 2 dB of loss per line channel.
