Xanoptix and Emerson are extending the capabilities of MT-style connectors beyond 12 and 24 fibers, making configurations up to 72 fibers and higher possible. This significant increase in fibers per single connector results in very dense connectivity solutions, reduces installation time and cuts board, enclosure and coupler costs. The higher density MT ferrule is at the nucleus of these connectors.

MT-style connectors meet the increasing demand for parallel optical data transmission by providing a high fiber count in a dense package via a two-dimensional array of the fiber holes. Optical Connectivity, an Emerson Network Power company, is licensed to provide high density leading-edge optical interconnect solutions using Xanoptix technology and the 36, 48, 60 and 72 fiber connectors mate with Xanoptix XTM transceivers.
