Optical Connectivity is pleased to announce
our status as the first manufacturer of fiber optic jumper
products to carry the designation of "UL Listed" at the assembly
level, under Underwriters Laboratories
Category QBFA Subject 2410 program.
UL Listing adds benefit and value to our OEM customers, especially
as fiber jumpers move "inside the box" and become a critical
component in overall UL certification for systems. While some
competitors claim UL Recognition of fiber jumpers under the
old Copper Wiring Harness program, Optical Connectivity is
the first to implement this new UL program, designed specifically
for fiber products.
Our listed jumper and trunk portfolio includes assemblies
made with any combination of MTP®, SMC, LC, ESCON, FC,
SC, ST and MT-RJ connectors. This Underwriters Laboratories
Subject 2410 program, QBFA category covers factory assembled
optical fiber cable assemblies and connector products. They
are intended for residential and/or commercial applications
as part of an optical fiber wiring system.
Optical fiber cable assemblies consist of Listed optical fiber
cable and optical fiber cable connectors and are intended
for use in accordance with Article770 of NFPA 70, "National
Electrical Code (NEC). According to Article 770, the restrictions
that apply to the cables used in these assemblies also apply
to the complete cable assemblies.
These assemblies have not been evaluated for use in environmental
air spaces, in accordance with Section 300-22(b) and (c) of
the NEC unless specifically marked for the application. Please
contact David Wuestmann (david.e.wuestmann@us.ul.com)
at UL or Matthew Mannell (mmannell@lodanwest.com)
